As the holiday season continues, there seems to be endless get-together’s and holiday parties and what better way to look your best (and be able to get ready in a hurry) then to get lash extensions! I have gotten them before, but had heard great things about Lindsay Toliver of Capital Lash in Bethesda, MD through a group of DC bloggers and my expectations were definitely exceeded! She was so professional and accommodating. Before she got started, she explained the process (be sure to set aside at least 2 hours) and gave me tips on keeping the lashes in good condition (keep face dry for 24 hours!). She recommended coming back for a refill in 2-3 weeks, but it really depends on your lash shedding cycle. She was very meticulous and it shows in her work. The lashes look so natural and give you that oomph without the mess of mascara. They are hypoallergenic and don’t harm your natural lashes. I opted for a mix of single and multiple lashes per lash for length and volume but you can customize however you want. It is literally perfect for the holidays or special occasions. I have had them for a little over a week and they still look amazing! They book up fast so make sure to make your appointment soon and if you mention Scrubs to Sequins you receive 20% off your first set (a $50-$70 value!).
Now that you have your lashes done, a dress will complete your look. This red dress been perfect for holiday parties this year AND it was only $60 from J.Crew! For those who know me, I am not one to buy full-priced items at J. Crew or anywhere for that matter (I think they are overpriced) but I do hit up the sale section! They have an amazing sale going on right now (40% off sale items) and I was lucky to snag this dress. It is appropriate for work functions but also feminine and a little bit sexy with the ruffles and form fitted style. Because I did find it in the sale section, I linked a similar dress here. For those who don’t know, J.Crew also offers 15% off if you are a teacher or student. I would probably shop there more if they offered it to nurses too!
This jacket is my go-to for fall. It’s the perfect length and black, of course, goes with everything. I also love how it buttons up high over your neck like a scarf. The tie belt is easy and chic!
What are everyone’s weekend plans? I’m heading to NYC for a girl’s weekend and I am so excited although, it is quite cold there right now and I did not pack a warm enough jacket… guess I’ll have to go shopping!
